As adaptor of many of Andrew Payne's plays, Robert Plagnol has also acted in all of the productions.

A graduate of the Classe Supérieure de la Ville de Paris, he has worked as an actor in film and television under the direction of many directors, including Michel Deville, Cédric Klapisch, Claude Miller, Marcel Bluwal and Pascal Chaumeil.

Robert Plagnol has also acted in a variety of premiers and repertory shows in both private and subsidised theatres.

Nominated for a Molière award in 2002 in the "Révélation Théâtrale" category for Patrick Lunant's play Léo, he created the directautheatre.com platform, which offered more than a hundred theatrical performances live on the internet during the Covid-19 pandemic.
